Inheritance…Quartet?

So after a rather broad announcement yesterday, amazing amazing AMAZING (slight sarcasm) news has come out from CP.

THE ONCE-WAS TRILOGY IS NOW A QUARTET! (zomg)

And…the third book’s coming out on 9/23/08.

AND A MAJOR CHARACTER’S DYING AT THE END!! (omgomg)

First note: I am a (somewhat) fan of the Inheritance Trilogy. I am aware that from a seasoned writer’s point of view it is NOT a very well-written and uncliche-ed book. However I read the book and got hooked when I was rather young and didn’t know about all that said above, so now I just read it to find out what happens.

Anyway. I don’t see why CP put out a 5-minute or so long video just to explain that the trilogy is now a quartet and someone major dies. Oh well, that’s just me. I also don’t really see how much more plot can be unraveled (there wasn’t a lot to begin with… ) that it needs to take another book unless some new plots get introduced in the third book (which I’m hoping will happen). As for the death of a major character, considering we all thought it was going to be the last book I’m pretty sure no one was surprised that someone major will die. It always happens. It’s cliche.

As for the release date…God can you pick a WORSE time in the year to release it? September 23rd of next year is a Tuesday, aka a school day, aka I don’t have all day to read it like I normally do with hyped books. I’d rather writers take their time than to rush to get a book out, but at least it could be a few weeks earlier in the summer when we don’t have school (and it would probably make more sales too).

Ah well. At least it wasn’t a newsletter about an ink-dip pen.

Oh yea, National Novel Writing Month starts November 1st. You have to try and write a 50,000+ word story by the end of November. I’m doing it this year and I have a small plot planned out…hopefully I’ll finish =x

Haunted High School was today.  The Anime/Manga Club I’m in did a scary room, and I had fun whipping a sword at people for two hours xD.  The Band Room looked freaking sweet as usual (they have a TON of space).  I wanted to go down there after it started but we weren’t allowed to leave the room   I don’t like little kids with attitude who go up to you and say “This is stupid” or “That was lame lets go somewhere else.”  Meh..it took a long time to put up the decorations!  We did manage to get a lot of scares on little kids and some older ones xD.  Little Emo Riding Hood was sweet.

More Irks and the BNB Event

Lets start off with more irks I had.

WTF?! There’s a LITTLE less than half my upper body showing when I wear a chainbody now. What is this? Wouldn’t Jagex think that armor is supposed to cover and protect the ENTIRE upper body, since that’s what it’s MADE for? Now there’s a whole section vulnerable to horny Runescape boys. This is madness.

If Jagex starts making the platebodies end a little higher I might just have to find out where they are and strangle Andrew Gower. Seriously though, the only thing that chainbody covers is the chest area >.<

P2P Week?

I was thinking a bit today and I came up with something that might get Jagex more revenue towards members.  I recently got an account with five days of members left (thanks a ton to the person who let me use it!) and I wandered around a bit in members (the whole time having a page to the world map open so that I wouldn’t get lost in seconds).  I started a few skills, agility/thieving/farming specifically, and I played a bit of Pest Control.  The account didn’t have too good stats so I couldn’t do much else, but I did start a few quests as well.

My wanting for members has slightly died down over the last several months after I realized I had quite enough to do in F2P.  However, now after my first taste of members I’m left wanting more.  There’s not only so much more to do, the atmosphere is so much different.  There’s nobody following you around asking for free stuff, there’s no noobs, and there’s level 100+’s running rampant.

Here’s my idea.  For just a week of each year, Jagex should open up F2P worlds to the P2P areas and let them get a little taste of membership.  They will still not be allowed on members worlds (so that members don’t end up complaining that their worlds are getting taken over), but everything P2P-based (the quests, the skills, the items) will be allowed on F2P worlds.  This will hopefully offer some incentive for people to get members after they get a feel for what it’s like and how much more members is.  After that week is over, all P2P items that the F2P player has will get deleted, they will start back in Lumbridge, and life will continue.  It would be pretty easy to do in my opinion, and it would most likely get more people to subscribe to members.

A Small Irk

This is a small thing that annoyed me a little bit.

That’s a pic of the female priest gown top. I was going to wear it along with the bottom for my halloween costume but uh, why does it show so much waistline? I don’t like walking around looking like a slut in real life so I’d rather not in Runescape either. I’m pretty sure it didn’t show the waist before… if I’m wrong er, whoops.

So it was brought to my attention today on Odyssey that a clan called Death Pkerz put a video on Youtube where they supposedly won a war against us.  However, it wasn’t a fair war, since Odyssey only had five people and they had eight (it wasn’t a full-out, it was just a spur of the moment war).

Then Jordan (Odyssey member) goes to DP’s forums, asking them for a rewar since the war before wasn’t all that fair.  Here is the lovely response he got:

“i wudnt wana war these guys again ther all defence noobs and **** around and take forever to get to war spot we must have waitied a good 30+ mins on u noobs”

Then the topic was locked.  What the hell?  Defence noobs?  I’m sorry but Odyssey isn’t a pure clan like DP is, yet they still have the nerve to call us defence noobs?  Defence was a skill made to be USED, and if people choose to use the skill you shouldn’t call them noobs, especially if they don’t call you noobs.  Also I don’t think it’s very fair calling Odyssey noobs, since we seem to have 1) more active members than you, 2) more higher levels than you, and 3) a higher level of maturity than you.  Honestly, the spelling in that sentence was absolutely horrible.  And yes, you’re going to have to wait a little while if you want to war without telling people in advance.  It takes time to get everything ready.

Afterwards I created another topic, which got locked soon with around the same response.  A third topic has been created by Jordan, which I doubt will be around for too long.  They even threatened to IP ban us for flaming.

I never really had a hate for pures but now it seems a dislike is fast growing.  How hard is it to just politely say “No, we’d rather not war” instead of “loOLLollOl ur def noobs NOWAI lullul”?  I doubt anyone in that clan’s older than 16…

Today

Was cool.  PSAT’s at 8 in the morning, which I woke up late for and nearly missed xD.  Stupid storm last night cut off the electricity and I forgot to set my alarm right again.  As for the actual test I think I did okay, although I’m hoping I got higher than a 210 for the sake of my parents (highest is 240).  There were a few I skipped out of pure “Huh??”-ness, but overall it wasn’t that bad.

Went out to eat after that, lalala, then came back and went on Gunbound/Runescape.  Yea, no life xD.  I have nothing really interesting to blog about anymore =x Someone give me a topic to blog about.  Nubface and Kevin’s ideas won’t be considered (unless they’re actually not stupid xD).

I downloaded FFXI because my friend told me to.  He failed to tell me I needed a registration code.  There goes an hour for nothing.
